From what I see this does not change the default application. Especially with media files one wants to have many players around in case some weired format comes up. But then you have realplayer even doing your .wav files, totally messing up the integrated KDE experience.



Btw. this is application preference is one reason why I use Konqueror. Firefox/Iceweasel still presents me with some weired Gnome apps only.
