If you have updated sid, then try to use this in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Generic Keyboard"
Driver "kbd"
Option "CoreKeyboard"
Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
Option "XkbModel" "pc104"
Option "XkbLayout" "es,us"

(and of course switch off all stuff in KDE Control Center).
