Here's a couple things to try:

 - Rebuild your font cache with "fc-cache -f -v" as root.

 - Check to make sure that the directory /tmp/.ICE-unix is owned by root and 
has the sticky attribute (that's chown root:root /tmp/.ICE-unix and chmod 
1777 /tmp/.ICE-unix.)
