Re: KDE through a KVM Switch

I have the same exact setup, and the same exact problem.  I think it's 
actually XFree86 that's having the trouble.  It only happens to me if I move 
the mouse around right after switching the KVM to the linux machine (i.e., 
while it's coming up on the screen).  If I wait it's fine.  If it does go 
haywire on me, I just switch to another getty, then back to 7 and it's fine 
again.  See if that helps you.  When the problem happens, hit Ctrl-Alt-F1, 
wait for the new screen to come up, then hit Ctrl-Alt-F7 to get back to your 
KDE session.  Make sure you don't move the mouse until everything's back up 
on your screen.

Also, you might be able to improve things by changing your mouse config for X.  
What does your mouse section in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 say?  Mine is:

Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier  "Mouse0"
        Driver      "mouse"
        Option      "Protocol" "auto"
        Option      "Device" "/dev/psaux"
        Option      "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
EndSection

...for a ms intellimouse (old ball model, not laser).
