If this is your problem, Pedro, you might want to make sure that mozilla runs 
under artsdsp (so it uses KDE mixer and doesn't require exclusive access to 
the sound device). Try this:

  $ cat /etc/mozilla/mozillarc
  # This file was generated by debconf automatically.
  # And you can copy this file to ~/.mozillarc to override.
  MOZILLA_DSP=artsdsp
