Using apt_preferences?

I wanted to update my testing system to KDE2.2.1 and was usingthe info
provided by Bruce Miller in his mini-HOW-TO but I'm having problems with my
preferences file. The contents of /etc/apt/preferences is:

Package: *

Pin: release a=testing

Pin-Priority: 777

Package: *

Pin: release a=unstable

Pin-Priority: 333

But apt-get is reporting the following:

Reading Package Lists... Done
E: Invalid record in the preferences file, no Package header
progeny:/home/jgay#

I get this no matter which command I use with apt-get. update fetches the
packages from testing and unstable and finishes with this. install anything
just gives me this back.

I've read the apt-get and apt-preferences man pages, but everything 'seems'
to be in order. Where have I gone wrong?

I am looking forward to finally seeing KDE2.2.1

Thanks for all the help and support!

Cheers,

	John Gay
