Re: KICQ: Qt libraries not found

I had this same exact problem last night while trying to re-compile kdelib.
Which I was doing because I had the same "libkdecore.so.3 failed to load:
cannot find symbol.." error as above... I then downloaded and built the
latest qt-x11-2.2.4.tar.gz source from trolltech.com. After putting in a
few new sym links to point to my new library, both problems went away! I'm
not sure what the delta between the two libraries is, but it probably
wouldn't be too hard to find out. ALSO, I just re-installed potato (for a
second time) a few days ago, the first time was two weeks ago. I did not
have this problem the first time. That makes me wonder what, if anything,
changed in qtlib2.2-potato.deb (or whatever it's called), in that window.

http://download.sourceforge.net/kicq/kicq-2.0.0b1.tar.gz, and did little
more than `tar xzvf' and `make -f Makefile.cvs'. Then, I run configure
manually (--with-qt-includes, as you suggested). The result doesn't appear
to be any different at all.

weird. I have no problems building kicq. 2.0.0b1 as well as 2.0.0b3 (aka,
from cvs) using this configure line:

  ./configure --prefix=/usr --mandir=\$${prefix}/share/man --infodir
=\$${prefix}/share/info --disable-rpath --with-qt-includes=/usr/include/qt
