Uploadeing debian-junior? (Was: Tasks-Web pages for Debian Junior)

Hi,

this mail of mine form last month did not gathered any answer. So I'm
a little bit unsure what to do. Here some more comments what I did and
what I would do if nobody disagrees:

On Mon, 16 Jun 2008, Andreas Tille wrote:

 lmemory

Well, freeciv is a transitional package only. Shouldn't we depend on
freecol instead?

Instead? No, these are different games. I'd suggest to depend from
freeciv-client-gtk instead.

I have set:
  Depends: freeciv-client-gtk | freeciv-client-sdl

It is used by the Debian Edu project to set a flag about things which
are interesting but need some further decision. I added these two
because I think they definitely belong to the task but wanted to leave
you the final decision. Feel free to turn this into Recommends / Suggests
whatever you feel apropriate.

I just have set
  Ignore: lincity-ng, freecol
to make you aware that something is missing in the tasks file. If nobody
disagrees I increase from "Ignore" to "Depends".

Same with lincity/lincity-ng. What's up with that?

Well, I think the best idea is

  Recommends: lincity-ng | lincity

IMHO lincity-ng is the better free clone (as long as the official freed
sources are not ported to Debian).

If nobody disagrees I will follow this idea.

I guess we need to depend on heroes-sdl now.

I do not know this game - just add it to the list of dependencies ...

I have set in arcade :
   Depends: heroes-ggi | heroes-sdl

There's nothing to replace lavaps, afaik, and lmemory
I'm going to work on today to fix its FTBFS so it can re-enter lenny.

Fine.

Hmmm, lavaps is tagged patch - so where is the problem to NMU?

For lmemory you have done #476024, but #486534 seems o hang around while
also featuring the tag patch - so where is the problem here?

The other thing that concerns me is the version#. You have
debian-junior at version 1.12, yet junior-arcade is now 1.12. Don't we
need to bump that up to 1.13, then?

Sure. It was just a mistake and it's fixed in SVN now.

If you ask me we should go for an upload of the new debian-junior
source soon. The rationale is that it requires editing override file
and this takes some time. So we are quite sharp to the Lenny freeze.
IMHO there is no need to wait for lavaps and lmemory because I asked
release manager for reuploading metapackages for Debian Med and
Debian EDU once the package set for Lenny is fexed (so after the freeze)
with the rationale that we want to include all interesting packages
for the CDD. So if you ask me we should upload now.

Anybody thinking this is no good idea?

Kind regards

           Andreas.
