AS> how are you using freevo in this context?

1. I installed it myself. When it broke after one of Debian upgrades, I
   reinstalled it.

2. I installed the required software. Some pieces of it might simply be
included into Debian, other (namely mplayer) are required by the
installation program despite they are actually not used.

3. When Freevo is crashed by my kid, I restart it.

If Freevo was in Debian, it would save me steps 1. + 2. and I could
possibly use the saved time to work on fixing 3.

BTW, there are .deb packages for Freevo available. But: 1. I don't like
using non-Debian .debs; 2. the packages didn't work at the time I tried
to install them.
