Sysadmin / Data Centre engineer in South East England

The Data Centre and Networks(DCN) team at Brandwatch look after
servers, switching and routing hardware to maintain thousands of CPU
cores, terabytes of memory and petabytes of storage used to provide
Brandwatch services to customers. This role will start out with our
DCN team but have an opportunity to move to our Security, Cloud SRE or
Developer Platform teams in 12-18 months.

The role is England remote or Brighton office based but requires
travel to data centres in south London and Maidstone in Kent.

What you’ll do:
Travelling between London Hayes and Maidstone data centres as required
Full lifecycle management of all hardware in all data centres
Hardware and cabling installations, relocations, maintenance and
replacementLinux provisioning and rebuilds
Responding to monitoring alarms and tracking performance metrics
Diagnose and fix hardware and software issues
Actioning and resolving tickets from other Brandwatch engineers
Dealing with suppliers, checking in deliveries, processing RMAs and
managing stock
Working with on site data centre staff to resolve environment and power issues

+ Ability to drive to our London / south east England data centres.
+ Installed and used at least one of Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD or NetBSD
+ Enthusiasm for getting hands-on with anything in data centres
+ Ability to lift 20 kg (racking servers)
+ A desire to learn

It would be great to have:
- Education in computing, networking or electronics
- Experience of systems administration, site reliability engineering,
DevOps or IT support

Pay range is wide to accommodate junior to senior.
