Software Engineer/Specialist for Maemo System Performance Team, Helsinki, Finland

The Linux-based Maemo platform is the software that powers mobile devices such as the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet. To make the Maemo platform even more powerful, we at the Maemo SW entity in Devices R&D are now looking for people to take it to the next level as part of the applications and platform development teams. We aim to extend the platform's capabilities as software for innovative communication and Internet devices; also by adding a Qt-based application development environment to complement the existing GTK+.

To help us in this cutting edge work, we are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in Helsinki (or Tampere), Finland. As part of our platform optimization function, you will work on our OMAP-based Linux product and help solve system-wide performance problems. You will especially focus on packaging and porting performance tools, tuning the tool chain for best optimization options and taking the restrictions of the Scratchbox/QEMU build system into account. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze problems in tools and services and propose short, middle and long-term solutions. Besides planning, reporting, designing and reviewing, your wide-ranging responsibilities will also include coaching your fellow team members.

This position available here http://www.nokia.com/imaginemaemo as “Software Engineer/Specialist-HEL00000138”

With Best Wishes,

Leonid
