I am interested to take part in the definition of a java packaging
policy.
I think that http://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/java-policy/
is a good start.
In the meantime, I think that updating Lintian to take in account the
specificities of Java would be a great asset.
About Eclipse, someone (a DD probably) should become the leader and
dispatch the tasks...
