I recommend stopping all non-subscriber postings for moderation, and
using the listadmin package to do the moderation job.  I do it for a
lot of lists, and it works very well.

If you want a short term solution, you can use gmane.org to read the
list.  Gmane do spam filtering and allow me to only see the non-spam
emails on this list.  I use the NNTP interface, but there are several
other options as well.  Check out
