Again, I deeply appreciate your work but I admonish you to follow procedure or I will take this up with Project leadership.I do not appreciate the way you deal with the situation. Sending this mail to the public list before even trying to talk with me is not a way to prove me you *really* appreciate my job. So, I don't wanna fight. I want kaffe in testing. I'd prefer kaffe to be co-maintained and I'm ready to help... but I'm tired of promises. It's my last step to help on your kaffe package in Debian. I'll not touch any kaffe-related thing anymore until an official call for co-maintaining the package. Note that I have other packages to take care of[3], some other projects running[4], I also try to help gnu/classpath and gnu/classpathx projects, have a wife, some friends and a good (full time) job.
Ean, give me a break. -java *should* take it up with the Project leadership and they probably would do either of, 1. O: kaffe - RC bugs not getting fixed and package not in testing (for a very, very, long time) 2. file a serious bug against ftp-master to have it removed from Debian. Then someone else could package it the right way. (eg. getting rid of the excessive Build-Depends) Arnaud has done more work with Kaffe than Ean had done over the last year! I have asked Ean privately to RFA: Kaffe as he does seem to have time for it. Of course he declined and promised to fix up Kaffe so it could enter testing. So I don't know, should we go to the "Project leadership" and get a more active maintainer for Kaffe? :P - Adam PS. Arnaud, I hope you are not discouraged. You should just post an ITH: to debian-devel and here. I would second that proposal. I hope Ean doesn't take this post personally; after all, we should have Kaffe in sarge working for all architectures, if possible. But I guess we can replace most of it with SableVM these days :)
