Analizzando il dmesg del CD di installazione pare che alla fine riesca
a caricare firmware e driver correttamente. Un altro errore che mi è
saltato all'occhio è il seguente:

È buona norma, quando si scaricano le immagini per le installazioni,
verificare dopo il download l'integrità dell'immagine.

Una volta verificata l'integrità dell'immagine la si dovrebbe
masterizzare ad una velocità bassa, più bassa è la velocità meglio è.
 
Consiglio di verificare la bontà dell'immagine che hai scaricato e di
ri-masterizzarla lentamente.

In fine, tieni presente che potrebbe essere anche il lettore CD ad
essere guasto. Ma per questo puoi verificare anche dal sistema installato.
