wake on lan

Ciao,

ho da poco installato una scheda di rete Edimax  EN-9230TX-32. Supporta il wake on lan ed in effetti collegandomi con il portatile ad una presa diversa ma nella stessa rete (la LAN dell'ufficio), riesco 
a svegliarlo. Il problema sorge se sono altrove. Non funziona.

Il modulo che usa è r8169, quello della distro (kernel 2.6.11-1-k7-smp).

ethertool mi dice:

Ma temo ethtool non supporti il setting di WOL su questo driver (stando al README.Debian)
