Errore growisofs (era: Dimensione Mpeg e Vob)

Dunque, il problema sembra essere growisofs, infatti se eseguo

Dando in pasto l'errore a San Google sembra che il masterizzatore non
supporti quel dvd-rw (verbatim), in realtà io lo scrivo da 2 settimane
tranquillamente... anche se non avevo mai provato però a dargli in pasto
file iso. Ho fatto la prova di scriverci sopra qualcosa e poi
masterizzarci il file iso: (per esempio) k3b prima lo formatta e poi si
mi da il solito errore...

Mi fa ridere il fatto che ora quel file l'ho masterizzato su un dvd-r...
mentre su un dvd-rw non vuol proprio andare...

Sarei curioso ora di capire di chi è la colpa, premetto che il firmware
del masterizzatore è aggiornato a ieri (BS0S). Il masterizzatore è un
lite-on sohw-1633S, il dvd-rw un verbatim. Utilizzo sid aggiornata ad
oggi con kernel 2.6.11.8 vanilla _senza_ emulazione scsi.

Qualcuno ha qualche idea?
