Potresti inviare l' output di dmesg. Da quello che dici non e'
chiaro se la scheda e' stata rivelata.

Potresti installare etherconf:
"Etherconf is a debconf-based interface for configuring Ethernet
devices on your system. It supports both manual and DHCP-based
configurations."
