Scanner Epson Perfection 1260 USB

Hola ALL!
Lo scanner da subj mi sta facendo un po' dannare.
Qualcuno ne ha mai configurato uno ?
Per ora gli step che ho superato sono :

-> echo "none  /proc/bus/usb  usbfs  defaults  0  0" >> /etc/fstab
    ( e reboot)

-> cat /proc/bus/usb/devices/

-> insmod  usb-uhci ( e qui non capisco la differenza tra usb-uhcio e
uhci.o)

-> insmod scanner vendor=0x04b8 product=0x011d

-> modifiche apportate a /etc/sane.d/plustek.conf
   commentato la sezione [parport] e aggiunto [usb] 0x04b8 0x011d

No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages).

mi sembra un po' assurdo ...
