MCE e piantamenti...

Ho una macchina, un PII, con kernel 2.4.19 a cui ho abilitato il MCE
(Machine Check Exception).

Machine Check Exception support allows the processor to notify the
kernel if it detects a problem (e.g. overheating, component failure). 
The action the kernel takes depends on the severity of the problem,
ranging from a warning message on the console, to halting the machine. 
You can safely select this on machines that do not support this feature
For pentium machines the mce support defaults to off as the mainboard
support is not always present. You must activate it as a boot option.

orbene, questa macchina ogni tanto si inchioda (freeze totale e
globale) senza scrivere assolutamente nulla a schermo.

Sospetto sia questo, visto che prima con il 2.4.18 non lo faceva.
Orbene... lo so che potrei disabilitare il supporto nel kernel e
ricompilare, ma... che opzione li devo passare?! in Documentation/ ho
cercato a lungo e non ho trovato nulla.
