L'idea può andare, ma mozilla è troppo pesante ho provato a farlo su un P120
con 32Mbram e non era utilizzabile, per Mozilla 64Mb sono abbastanza, ma
purtroppo impegna molto la CPU, quindi ce ne vuole una un pò prestante
(400Mhz in sù), come WM si può usare Wmaker leggero e velocissimo,certo però
magari un principiante potrebbe trovarsi un pò disorientato, in alternativa
mi sembra buono fvwm95 che appunto ricorda winzozz ed anche lui è piuttosto
leggero.
Per la posta Kmail (magari dal kde1) oppure anche balsa non è male, come
browser mi sento di consigliare caldamente Opera, molto leggero, ottimo
rendering delle pagine e pochi problemi di compatibilità, la versione free
ti fà solo vedere una finestrella con la pubblicità che non è neanche molto
fastidiosa.
