su che porta ascolta il tuo font-server? sei sicuro che sia la 7101?
in questo momento non mi ricordo bene come è la questione della
porta, ma nel link che ti ho mandato c'era scritto qualcosa a riguardo.
cmq, in /etc/X11/XF86Config devi avere una riga:

FontPath        "unix/:<n° porta>"
