Hi Ryan.  This came up on a Debian list only a couple of weeks ago.

I'm Australian and here are my thoughts:

* I oppose the filter from a civil liberties standpoint. A common rallying cry for supporting the filter is "think of the children".

I am thinking of the children as I don't them growing up in a world where the govt can keep secrets lists of what the public are allowed to see.

* I oppose it from a technical point of view. It will be trivial to circumvent and yet may well slow end-user Internet access.
