blocking *IMAGE* attachments doesn't.

and it's easy to do.  

e.g to block embedded(*) images in HTML mail in postfix PCRE body_checks:

/\bsrc\s*=(?:3D)?\s*"?cid:/ REJECT


(*) i.e. where the HTML message refers to an attached image so that it
is displayed when the message is displayed - which is how image spam
works. normal image attachments, not used in the message itself are
unaffected.



IMO, debian mail servers should block this crap - at least 90% of
it that is blocked by my systems comes via master.debian.org....so
debian's lists and mail servers are acting as spam forwarders (and spam
multipliers in the case of spam to the lists). there's no legitimate
reason to have such embedded images on debian mailing lists.
