Hi, 

If you want to feel even more secure and with zero problems on your ftp servers I recommend you to use or just take a look to vsftpd. It's been developed with security on mind. I use it on all my ftp servers and it works really fine and has a great performance. I'm not taking his popularity like a religion, I only talk from my experience.
