FiberOptic Backbone and frustration

Hello *,

Since you know, I am in France, I am really frustrated because if I
read, that an Enterprise/ISP in the USA can get an OC-12/STM-4 for
120.000 US$ per year(!!!).

I had between 12/1999 and 12/2004 a colo OC-3 and have payed 76.000
Euro per month (all traffic included)

In Kehl/Germany I had at 2001 an E1 and payed 1000 Euro per month
plus traffic (0-40GB = 28 Euro/GB, 40-80 GB = 24 Euro/GB)

In 2002 I have upgraded to an E3 and payed 5000 Euro/month plus
traffic.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

I have three 3Com NETBuilder II (one with 2x OC-3 and 2 with each
2x E3) plus 4 Cisco 4xxx and one Cisco 7xxx

Now prices are falling down and I have an E1 (plus backup) in
Offenburg/Germany and pay around 500 Euro per month plus traffic
using my own Cisco 4xxx

The same setup I have in Paris but paying 1700 Euro including
traffic.

Hell, - Where can I get cheaper NON-COLO backbones ?

I am thinking about an FiberOptic E3 or STM-1 plus BGP4 routing.

Can you suggest me ISP's in Suiss, Germany (prefered Offenburg)
and France (reg. Paris) ?

I have three identic Sun Server with 32 CPUs 650 MHz, 64 GB mem
and 96x 76 GByte SCSI (six Raid-5 to 1 TByte) which I try to run
redunant. (can't get PostgreSQL 7.4 to work in a cluster)

The Server + UPS are in my Appartements in Offenburg and Paris.
The third is waiting for a new place in Suiss.

Greetings
Michelle
