We use the qla2300 driver here in production. I've a custom built kernel with the latest (or very nearly so) QLA drivers rolled into it. If you want I can ship you the binary .deb -- i might also have a source .deb from which you can make your own binary .debs...
the QLA driver is unable to be included directly in debian because of licensing concerns I'll bet.
