djbDNS help

Hello People,

I'm running djbdns on one of my server as a name resolving server.
I'll call this server "ns1"
This server has a public ip, say 1.2.3.4.
dnscache is configured for 127.0.0.1
/etc/resolv.conf has 127.0.0.1
This server works absolutely fine. It resolves all domain in its database
and also resolves external domains like yahoo.com and others.

My problem:
I have other server in my network, one is mail server (mail) other is a
scanning server (spamav). I want to configure them to use the above
mentioned server, ns1, as their DNS server.

So I added another dnscache in ns1 with the following command
dnscache-conf dnscache dnslog /etc/dnscache-ext 1.2.3.4

Then I updated spamav and mail server with 1.2.3.4 in their /etc/resolv.conf
Things were find for a couple of hours. After that I wasn't able to resolve
domains available in my DNS server's (ns1) database. External domains were
being resolved fine.

Following is the error I was receiving:

I've now removed the entry for secondary dnscache i.e. /etc/dnscache-ext and
now things are working fine except that I'm now using my ISP's DNS ip in my
other machine's /etc/resolv.conf file.
I know I might have done some wrong setup.

How can I use my own DNS server for my other server's Primary DNS ?

Regards,

rrs
