Re: DNS in MySQL

Hi !

I do this for mail, it works very well. But the .cdb file format seems to be a bit slow. Here it's alright for mail if you have less than 10 000 records, but not as efficient as MySQL when it comes to deal with 100 000+ accounts.

Why not try djbdns?, it is simple and light weight. We are using it here, we have dns records on a mysql table and dump them to djbdns format on demand, build the .cdb file and instantly without the need to reboot djb uses the updated .cdb file.

Subject: DNS in MySQL

Hello,

I want to be able to dynamically modify DNS entries, which is not
possible in bind9, so I'm looking for some nameserver which can hold
configuration in SQL database. I have found package mydns-mysql. Do
you have any experiences with it? Or what would you recommend?

     thanks
