Hi All
I need to setup a Debian box at a hosting service in the UK. It's got to
be Debian, stand alone, I need root access to load software etc, and I
need someone to reboot it if it gets stuck - but not much more.
I use bytemark.co.uk which provide UML (User-mode-linux) and dedicated
hosting. I have used their UML hosting for quite a while, and I have to
say they are absolutely brilliant. They provide Debian UML's by default.
I cannot give the guys that run it enough praise. Their knowledge,
attention to details and willingness to help with anything is fantastic.
They also give Debian/open source developers a 10% discount.
Yup, I know Matthew Bloch from Bytemark and they're very good.
The only possible disadvantage is that it is a shared server. If you
need your own due to performance requitements, I'd reccomend Black Cat
Networks[1]. I colocate with them, and they really know their stuff (as
well as running a Debian mirror).
