most (if not all) spamware and viruses won't.  open relays and spamhaus sites
and other real MTAs will.

impossible to say, depends on many factors on the sending host - how it is
configured, what software it is running, how busy it is, how many items in the
queue, etc etc.    could be every few seconds, could be several hours between
delivery attempts.

many mail servers implement an exponential backoff strategy.  they will try
again very quickly to start with and, on each failure, increase the delay (e.g.
doubling the time) between attempts until it reaches a maximum delay.

until the queue lifetime expires (usually 5 days, although it could be anything).
