Yes - that provided confirmation that my suspicions were right: the rbl
config was NOT working :-(

I had:

(plus I added sbl.spamhaus.org.).

Turns out the problem was the trailing dots.  Odd, 'coz it definitely used
to work with the trailing dots with the postfix in potato.
