Adaptive Server Enterprise 11.0 is free for any use under linux (only
under linux, and you can't use it for production of chemical, nuclear and
biological weapon and distribute to the enemies of US like Iraq - the only
restrictions it has). It was freely downloadable from sybase web site.

It allows the use of raw devices.

Has anybody used it? (I didn't yet).
