Please note you are the first to complain for the stable system which is
out there for almost 2 years. If there were something so grossly bad, I
should have heard...

That's because "recommends" pulls in im-config which starts ibus daemon.
This is good default since whoever needs to use ibus needs to start it.

You killed input method... so your key stop working.  It's nice if ibus
tray is robust to restart automatically to enable keyboard.  But ...
Excuse me this is not important bug.

Please exit GUI environment if you want to reconfigure.  Please rondomly
kill process and ask nothing happens.

I don't use KDE.  So far on GNOME side, panel thing is not used.
Any fix suggestion is welcome.

For now, this is user configuration issue.

To stop ibus running while it is installed, 

option1: remove im-config
option2: use im-config to set system wide IM to NONE.
