It's a little painful, but if you can build a version of GDB with 
support for debugging XFree and have another machine (maybe a laptop) 
you can use to login to your ia64 box remotely, you can get a much 
better idea of where X might be crashing. It might be worth filing a bug 
report at xfree86.org, including the entire XFree86 log file. As to why 
simply installing ogle would break your system like that... no idea. :\ 
It seems strange.
