Hi, I have solved the problem using Option "XkbDisable" in XFree86-4 at Section "InputDevice". Now X Windows works but with some artefacts, similarly with those reported by Emeric Maschino in <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-ia64/2004/debian-ia64-200401/msg00084.html>Msg.00084</a> If I downgrade the Nvidia driver at 31.27 then I obtain only black screen, probably because I have the 980XGL model.
