You too? My first job was with a glorified tabulator that read/printed
300 cards/lines per minute - and spat out punchcards for the
"database" of 20,000 cards ...

Nope - I don't think diacritics can be added to the futhark[1] :-(
But the LotR runes could be adapted, I suppose ...

Ouch. That sent me off into Wikipedia, to the Han unification article.
I believe North Korea dropped hanja completely while South Korea still uses
about 2000-2500 hanja characters? (So many homonyms in the language that
you can see Koreans drawing hanja in their palms to show what they mean :-) )
Somewhat off topic. I'll go back to Skolelinux now as a lot of updates have
just been checked in.
