Please don't assume we translators aren't interested in the maintainance process. I've found these mails very interesting, and I'd much rather have all the information. I really had no idea how things were done, before.
I found the mails very clear and helpful. That's not to say they can't be improved, because everything can in theory, but to give some positive feedback on the obvious hard work that Christian and others involved in this campaign have put in.
IMNSHO, it's worked very well: I've learnt quite a bit from it, I've seen a stack of previously zombied translations finally get into use, as well as having the opportunity to review older translations and create new ones for packages I hadn't encountered before.
