So, first collecting the bug numbers for "switch to po-debconf" would be a great help. For a status page, there is already some material about which packages use debconf (not po-debconf) : for building the status pages at http://www.debian.org/intl/l10n/templates/, Denis Barbier collects data in ~barbier/l10n/material/templates/ on gluck. This can probably be reused for stats purpose and "knowing" which package has been fixed for instance.
I did an initial grepping and some manual checks to build the bug list. I'll do some more scripting latter today to check the list with what Martin sent (thank Martin!).
Some of the bugs I found were closed (and archived), but the package is not using po-debconf.
I removed the following packages also: ddt: removed from Debian freenet6: dummy package libroxen-imho: uses po-debconf moobot: removed from Debian moviemate: removed from Debian php4-pecl-ps: removed from Debian zope-zshell: no debconf?I'm collecting all the data in my home at gluck. In /home/lwall/i18n/data. You, or anybody with access to gluck, should be able to modify it.
There are also three scripts there: updatedate: scans bugs to grep for the submition date.udpatestatus: checks the template file to see if the package is using po-debconf.
makehtml: generates the html list. You can see the final html page here: http://people.debian.org/~lwall/i18n/To check if the package is using po-debconf I'm grepping the template for the string "^_Description: ".
I guess it might be useful to scan the wnpp bug report and add to the list the status of any package found there.
Do you think we should add anything else to the list? K. -- Lucas Wall <kthulhu@kadath.com.ar> .''`.
