You need the filename as well, as Bartosz said. it's very common to 
find packages with more than one translated po file.

This scheme is quite used throughout d-i:

{package}_{path with s/\//_ }_{lang}.po

so the tasksel files:

po/pl.po
debian/po/pl.po
tasks/po/pl.po

would be :

tasksel_po_pl.po
tasksel_debian_po_pl.po
tasksel_tasks_po_pl.po
