Debian 2.2r3 does not have a locale.gen anymore. Is there another way to
fix it?

I just want latin1 characters, that was only an illustrative example ;-)
Anyway, if you have the solution for this (a workaround the missing
/etc/locale.gen), please cc this to me, as I unsubscribed from the list,
because it has quite a bit of traffic.
