As Richard reminded, it has been "GNU" for so long, that so many program
depend on that value now, so it's not to change, it's not a question of
taste.

And really, GNU/Hurd *is* the GNU system, there's nothing to be more
precise. Think of it as "GNU/Foo" is a hybrid system, mixing GNU with
other non-GNU OS. GNU/Hurd is not a mix.
