Hello All,

Just a quick note to let you know that the baseGNU.tgz file does not
extract properly in debian-K8-hurd-i386-mini.iso and
debian-K8-hurd-i386-CD1.iso. This caused the install to fail on my
system. Unfortunatly due to disk space problems I erased the images
before I could send the notification, but attempting to untar the
baseGNU.tgz file should produce the error.
Both these unpacked OK when I tested them. So I suspect it is something
to do with your system. Can you give us some more details please.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Yes, I noticed it too. And after the install failed to untar
baseGNU.tgz, I noticed that nano wasn't properly installed, a self
referencing symlink iirc. I mentioned this on the
irc.freenode.net/#hurd and was told it was a bug.

The base install freaked on my when I had an old version I was overwriting. A fresh install kicked ass. The nano problem has been around for a while now. :'-(

Thanks for all the work Philip!
