question 1: i downloaded the gnu-latest.tar.gz from ftp:alpha.gnu.org as
installation doc recommanded ,but it seems the version is gnumach1.2 not
1.3 as you say ,why?

question 2: i has D-Link DFE530 not 3cxxx ,and whatever it detected is
uncorrect. why? is this the reason ican't settrans the pfinet?
when i typed:
$settrans -fgap /servers/socket/2 /hurd/pfinet -i eth0 -a "myip" -g
"gateway" -m "mask"
it tells me:
/hurd/pfinet:eth0:(os/devices) no such device.
settrans:/hurd/pfinet:Translator died.

question 3:when i typed:
$df -m
it tells me :
df:cannot read table of mounted filesystems:No such file or directory
and this the /etc/fstab:
# /etc/fstab: static file system information
#
# <file system>	<mountpoint>	<type>	<options> <dump>	<pass>
/dev/hd0s10	/ ext2	rw 1	1
/dev/hd0s7 swap swap defaults 0 0

question 4:how to edit the file /etc/fstab so i can mount cdrom?

please help me .
