Re: real strange

   question 1: i downloaded the gnu-latest.tar.gz from ftp:alpha.gnu.org as
installation doc recommanded ,but it seems the version is gnumach1.2 not
   1.3 as you say ,why?

A small typo before the release was made. It is probobly 1.3 that you
are using.

question 2: i has D-Link DFE530 not 3cxxx ,and whatever it detected is
uncorrect. why? is this the reason ican't settrans the pfinet?
   when i typed:

The compiled GNU Mach kernel you have tries all the cards that it is
compiled for, 3c515 is one of those. From the looks your card isn't
supported.

   question 3:when i typed:
   $df -m
   it tells me :
df:cannot read table of mounted filesystems:No such file or directory

Yes, we don't have an /etc/mtab file that some systems have, to check
how much space you have left specify the directory (or device) as the
last argument, for example:

df -m /

or

df -m /dev/hd0s1

question 4:how to edit the file /etc/fstab so i can mount cdrom?

You should use settrans for this, and since the infomation gets stored
across boots you don't need to do any more than to start an passive
translator. If you'd like more information about translators see the
Hurd web page [1]. Something like this should work:

settrans -cp /cdrom /hurd/iso9660fs /dev/hd1
