Sorry for adding to this pointless thread. Maybe this is a stupid
question, but does the FHS determine anywhere that "Thou shalt have no
other directories before me"?
I'd say that /hurd, /trans, whatever you call it, is simply outside
the scope of the FHS and therefore cannot, by definition, conflict
with it. Conflicts would arise if GNU/Hurd would reuse common unix
directory names for other than the commonly accepted purposes but not
if they add something new which is unique to their OS.
