OSkit is about MACH portability. Not HURD. MACH talks to the hardware
when it needs to through OSkit. If the hardware changes to another
platform then you just need another OSkit to match it.
It's one of those payoffs of modularity but the indirection may cost a
bit. Kinda like the linux modules make the kernel smaller but the module
must be loaded before it can be used. It is certainly possible to over
do the modulization of any program to the point where it is difficult to
follow.
