No, certainly not. However, only Debian developers will be able to upload
packages to the Debian server, and for stability and security reasons,
developers will rebuild the package on their own system before doing that.

But there is hell of a lot work to do, because many sources require changes,
often very small, but annyoing to find out. If you just go and try to
compile software, and report problems to us or the upstream authors
(depending on the bug/fix), this will help us a lot.

To avoid doubled effort, it would be cool if you could drop us a short note
if you start working on something.

Other ways to help are testing the system, telling us what you'd like to do
and let us comment/assign a task, or improving documentation.
