Here's a quick HOWTO, get the following .debs:
gcc-i386-gnu_*.deb
mig-i386-gnu_*.deb

Install them, then go into your directory which contains the GNUMach source,
then modify your path as follows:
PATH=/usr/i386-gnu/bin:$PATH
and finally run:
./configure     # your options
make
