Can you please boot from the install CD, select "execute a shell", then
cat /proc/partitions
and
fdisk -l /dev/sda
fdisk -l /dev/sdb
You should see something like this:
root@gggc3k:~# fdisk -l /dev/sda
Disk /dev/sda: 18.2 GB, 18210037760 bytes
64 heads, 32 sectors/track, 17366 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 2048 * 512 = 1048576 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 1 257 263152 82 Linux swap
/dev/sda2 258 278 21504 f0 Linux/PA-RISC boot
/dev/sda3 279 2048 1812480 83 Linux
/dev/sda4 2049 17366 15685632 83 Linux
(Note this is not my preferred layout, but it works.
I'd like to move to
sda1 2GB Linux/PA-RISC boot (boot and /)
sda2 1GB swap
sda3 15GB ext3 /home

Can you provide "sea" output from the BOOT_ADMIN prompt?
